Seven-year-old, Takkshanth Anand (Elo Rating 1026) won the ’12th National Schools Chess Championship 2024′ at Patna in the Under-7 open category, scoring 8/9. He finished a half point ahead of the field. 

Takkshanth made a fantastic comeback after losing his 4th round game to 2nd seeded Tejas Tiwari (Elo 1149) and scored 5/5 in the last 5 games. His penultimate round was with top-seeded Shivay Singh (Elo 1219) where he showcased exemplary tactics. In the final must-win game, he beat Aaradhyo Guin to clinch the title and was selected for Asian Schools in Thailand.
