Seven MTC bus routes renumbered for passenger convenience

Tamil Nadu Government to Operate 627 Special Buses for Long Weekend Travel in April 2025

In an effort to improve the efficiency of its services, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) will implement zonal reorganization of its bus route numbers, effective May 1, 2025.

The MTC, which serves the travel needs of Chennai and its environs explained that the reorganization aims to group route numbers by zone. As part of this process, 7 route numbers will be changed; however, the actual bus routes will remain unchanged. Details of the specific number changes were provided by the MTC.
