On May 23, GUVI, an IIT-Madras and IIMAhmedabad-incubated EdTech company, partnered with the Government of Tamil Nadu to upskill 5,555 students across the state under the Naan Mudhalvan scheme. In collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), the GUVI Hackathon 2025 aimed to bridge the tech skill gap by providing hands-on, realworld experience.
The hackathon followed a three-level hybrid format:
- Level 1: 2,885 students took an online assessment; 564 advanced.
- Level 2: Advanced test selected 153 finalists.
- Level 3: Offline hackathons in Chennai, Thanjavur and Kanyakumari.
The top 33 performers were declared winners, and 112 students received Certificates of Achievement and tech gifts.
GUVI’s CEO, Arun Prakash, emphasised the value of real-world learning, while Dr. M. Jayaprakasan (TNSDC) highlighted the initiative’s alignment with the Chief Minister’s vision of creating future-ready youth.
Participants underwent 45 hours of expert-led training, focusing on technical and problem-solving skills. GUVI, now part of HCL, continues to lead in inclusive tech education, offering AI-powered courses in more than 19 regional languages. Visit www.guvi.in for more.
