ALERT, a Neelankarai-based NGO that has been working for 19 years to empower citizens with emergency response skills, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Tamil Nadu State Branch, marking a significant collaboration in community first aid and emergency response training.
The MoU exchange took place at the IRCS TN Branch headquarters in Chennai, graced by representatives from both organisations. Justice M Jaichandran (Vice President & Chairman, IRCS TN) expressed pride in the partnership, emphasising its role in building a safer society. V.M.Muralidharan (Chairman, ALERT) noted the joint effort’s potential to empower youth in colleges, while K.Vedavyas (General Secretary, IRCS TN) highlighted plans to reach underserved communities.
This partnership aims to deliver large-scale training programs through ALERT Golden Army Clubs, Youth Red Cross (YRC), and Junior Red Cross (JRC) in colleges, along with sessions for corporates, auto drivers, homemakers, and other community members. A joint certification will be issued post-training.
