Cheshire Home India – Chennai, a non-profit dedicated to persons with disabilities since 1958, today launched a new Therapy Centre for Special Children at its premises in Valmiki Nagar. This new initiative is a significant step in the home’s mission to provide holistic and multidisciplinary support to children with special needs.
The new centre will offer a range of services, including special education, speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychological services.

The inauguration was attended by eminent guests, including Dr. A. Somasundaram (MD Paediatrics), who delivered an insightful address to parents on the critical importance of early intervention for developmental challenges. The event also featured an interactive session where parents could consult with the medical professionals present.
With the centre now officially operational, therapy assessment sessions have begun, with the centre scheduled to run from Monday to Friday. The initiative underscores Cheshire Home’s continued commitment to empowering persons with disabilities through inclusive care and dedicated support.
