‘Srimad Acharya Sapthashatee’ Tamil Edition Unveiled
Share on WhatsappShare on Facebook

A Tamil edition of ‘Srimad Acharya Sapthashatee,’ a revered Sanskrit poetic biography of Swami Nigamantha Desikan, was released in a grand ceremony at the Kasturba Nagar Residents Association Hall in Adyar. The book, originally authored in 1906 by U.Ve. Mannargudi Gopalacharya Swamy was brought back to life by the author’s granddaughter, Meera Ramanan, who now makes this 120-year-old literary gem accessible to a wider audience.

The original Sanskrit text, a pivotal work in Srivaishnava philosophy, was revived after its print copies became scarce. Following the publication of an English edition in 2024, the new Tamil edition offers transliterations and meanings, enabling a wider range of readers to connect with this historical masterpiece.
