The Colours of Glory Foundation, Kotturpuram, in collaboration with the Russian Centre of Science & Culture, held its 5th annual Military History & Awareness Quiz for students. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 200 students in classes VIII to XII from across the city.
After a written preliminary round with 30 questions, the top six teams advanced to the two-hour final, a viva voce round of 36 questions. Both rounds included a mix of direct, multiple-choice, and pictorial questions designed to test students’ knowledge of Indian military history, weaponry, and national security challenges.
The quiz was conducted by Quiz Master Lt. Col. S.V. Sundar, a high-altitude warfare veteran.
Awards were presented to all the finalists. Cash awards and certificates were also given to the top 10 scoring teams from the preliminary round and to five audience teams who answered questions the finalists couldn’t. All 158 remaining participants received certificates and medals.
The awards were presented by chief guest S. Seetharaman, Founder-Chairman of Super Auto Forge Pvt Ltd, along with Evgeniya, Social Media Manager of the Russian Centre, Col. A. Krishnaswamy, a 1971 war veteran, and Capt. D.P. Ramachandran, the quiz’s Chief Coordinator.
