The city is set to host a major private sector job fair on Nov.21, 2025, organised jointly by all Employment and Career Guidance Centres in Chennai. This initiative is part of a successful, state-wide programme aimed at accelerating placements for unemployed youth in private sector companies. The event will take place at the District Employment and Career Guidance Centre, located within the Integrated Employment Office Complex on Alandur Road, Guindy, Chennai – 32.

The fair will be conducted from 10 am to 2 pm. It is open to a wide range of candidates, including those qualified from the 8th standard up to any degree level (covering 10th, 12th, ITI, Diploma, Engineering, Arts, Science, and Technology streams). Crucially, Persons with Disabilities are also encouraged to attend and participate. Organisers expect more than 20 private sector companies to attend and recruit candidates for various vacancies on the spot.

A key feature of this employment drive is that candidates who secure a job will not have their existing employment registration cancelled. Furthermore, there is no fee required for participation, neither for job seekers nor for the hiring companies. All job seekers and employers intending to participate must register their details beforehand on the official Tamil Nadu Private Sector Employment Portal: www.tnprivatejobs.tn.gov.in. Chennai District Collector, Tmt. Rashmi Siddharth Jagade, IAS, has appealed to all eligible unemployed youth to take full advantage of this opportunity.
