Kotturpuram celebrates Chandrayaan’s success
The Ward Councillor of Ward 170 (Kotturpuram), K.R.Kathirmurugan, on Aug.23, celebrated the success of Chandrayaan 3 landing on the South pole of the Moon, with the public.
In a celebration near the Anna Centenary Library signal, he distributed sweets to the public and also honoured the Tamil scientist associated with the mission. A model of the rocket was on display since Aug.10, at the venue and on successful landing, the team celebrated the occasion by paying floral tributes.
“The success of Chandrayaan is historic and it is a matter of pride that in all the three Chandrayaan missions, scientists from Tamilnadu have played a major role, be it Mayilswamy Annadurai for Chandrayaan 1, Dr.K.Sivan for Chandrayaan 2, and P.Veeramuthu Vel for Chandrayaan 3. We had the rocket on display from Aug.10 so that it is seen by the school children and they are inspired by the scientists, and aim to be scientists like them. The mission has put India in an elite club and I hope that the children take the baton forward,” said K.R.Kathirmurugan explaining the importance of the celebrations. Many school children and onlookers participated in the celebrations.

Patriotism starts at home and travels beyond the moon. We as a family enjoyed, rather cheered the scientists and the whole work force behind, for making the dream come through on landing Chandrayan on moon.

Seen at the back ground is a paperboard model of Chandrayaan at Besant Nagar made in no time by my brother, a senior citizen (standing in the middle), as a token of gratitude to all the scientists, and the brain force behind for enabling our National Flag to fly ‘Up above the World so High’ through the recent achievement.

Celebrating Chandrayaan underwater
Resident of Karapakkam, Aravind Tharunsri, celebrated India’s Chandrayan 3 landing by emulating the landing with a 10 kg model of Vikram Lander at a depth of 45 ft under the sea level at ECR. He also planted the National Flag and congratulated all the scientists and the team involved in the achievement. Joh, Nishwik, Keerthana, Tharagai and many more youngsters joined in celebrating the historic event.
