What’s Happening in Adyar: June 1 – 7

May 31, 2025

I know Rohan as a prolific tennis player from the Besant Nagar club, with a booming, bullet-like serve akin to his namesake Bopanna, India’s tennis legend.

As a commander, flying people all over the globe, Rohan realises that he has a penchant for writing, amongst his many passions. This leads him to crank up WASTRA.

The story, based on true events, is about the underworld dons of Bombay, that serve up gore, killing, violence, bloodshed, torture and everything brutal that can chill you to the bone. Needless to say, it has a good measure of love, money, drugs, booze, knives, guns, bombs and more. It has all the trappings of a gangster story, written as a well-constructed documentary and as an edge-of-the-seat thriller at the same time, in an engaging writing style.
Author Rohan Kailasam can be reached at [email protected]. The book is available on Amazon, Goodreads and Flipkart. It is priced at Rs.167.47.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
