The vibrant festivities of Gaura Purnima started with great enthusiasm at ISKCON Chennai temple on Mar.25, as devotees came together to commemorate the appearance day of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
Festivities began amidst the soul-stirring kirtan of Hare Krishna Mahamantra. Devotees participated in an elaborate Maha-abhisheka ceremony, bathing the Nitai Gauranga deities with a sacred mixture of panchamrita, multi-coloured flower petals, panchagavya, and assorted fruit juices. The ambience resonated with prayers from the sacred Brahma Samhita scripture, enriching the spiritual experience. It was further elevated by pushpa vrishti, showering the divine forms with fragrant flowers, followed by the opulent offering of more than 500 delectable dishes.
The festivities reached a pinnacle with a breathtaking maha aarti ceremony, as the iconic Gaura arati song echoed through the air, casting a divine glow upon the adorned deities. Sumptuous dinner prasadam was served to around 2000 visitors who were all overwhelmed witnessing a day filled with spiritual bliss and gratitude.
