The Ellen Sharma School came alive with a riot of colours, creativity, and community spirit at its much-anticipated Art-o-thon 2025, a day-long celebration of artistic expression by children and young adults.
Held on April 5, the event gave opportunities for a vibrant experience of paintings, sculptures and crafts from across age groups, including children with special needs. The theme of this year’s Art-o-thon, ‘My World, My Imagination’, encouraged participants to dive deep into their inner landscapes and bring their ideas to life through colour, form, and texture.
“We believe every child is an artist,” said Sangeetha Parameswaran, head of the centre, “Art-o-thon is not about competition—it’s about expression, joy, and the magic of the creative process.”
The campus was transformed into an open gallery with live art corners, community mural making, paper craft workshops, and collaborative installations. Parents, teachers, and visitors walked through the exhibits, marvelling at the diversity and depth of each child’s work. One of the highlights was the sensory-friendly art space designed specifically for children with autism and sensory processing needs, offering an inclusive and nurturing environment for free expression.
The event also featured interactive stations where visitors could try hand printing, clay modelling, and kolam photo for take-away memories.
