Athulya Senior Care, in collaboration with Wasted Trust, Spreco, and GIZ, and co-funded by the European Union, is organising a dry waste collection drive to promote sustainable waste management practices among residents. The drive is scheduled across two days (May 31 and June 1), at multiple locations in Chennai.
- May 31: Collection centres will be set up at Athulya Senior Care, Pallavaram (Tower C, Olympia Grande, Periyar Nagar) and Neelankarai (Sakthimoorthiamman Nagar).
- June 1: The same Pallavaram and Neelankarai centres will operate again, along with an additional collection point at Maduravoyal (263, Alapakkam Main Road, Janaki Nagar).
Residents are encouraged to drop off fabrics (including torn or stained clothes), plastics (all types), paper (all types), and e-waste. However, e-waste with leaking batteries or swollen mobile phones will not be accepted.
This initiative aims to reduce the environmental burden of dry waste while encouraging responsible disposal and recycling habits in urban communities. For further information, contact 97157 55522 or visit www.indiawasted.com. Updates are also available via Instagram @indiawasted.
