WCCG-Aalam, the social initiative wing of the We Are Chennai Cycling Group (WCCG) is organising a blood donation camp in partnership with the Egmore Children’s Hospital and Chrompet Government General Hospital.

“Though science has advanced beyond imagination, there is still no substitute for blood, platelets, or plasma. Except for the cornea, every other organ in the body requires blood for oxygen transport. Thus every donor is a lifesaver,” said a statement from WCCG. Individuals aged 17 to 77 years, weighing at least 50 kgs with a haemoglobin of at least 12.5, can donate (donor should be free from HIV, hepatitis, syphilis).
