BossGo Run, a fitness training organisation, which also promotes social works through its activities and fitness events, recently planted 100 palmyra palm trees on the Adyar river bank, Kotturpuram.
R.Ashok Kumar, Founder, BossGo Run fitness said, “This initiative was to highlight the importance of planting palm trees especially along the river banks as they naturally have the tendency to reduce the force of the flood water. Kotturpuram was one among the most affected areas during the 2015 flood in Chennai. This activity also promotes the palm tree plantation, Palm being the state tree of Tamil Nadu.”
The trees were planted near Ward 170 of the GCC and it was presided over by the Ward Councillor K.R.Kathirmurugan. The event also involved the students of Patrician College, Adyar.
