The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) – Structural Engineering Research Centre (SERC) is set to celebrate its Foundation Day by hosting an Open Day at its laboratories in Chennai on Sept.26, 2025. The event aims to provide the public, including students and professionals, a firsthand look at the scientific innovations and research conducted at the national laboratory.
Located within the CSIR Campus at Taramani, CSIR-SERC specializes in research, development, and advanced testing in structural engineering. The campus is home to several other national laboratories focused on various scientific disciplines, including electrochemistry, metallurgy, and environmental science.
During a recent press meet, Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-SERC, invited the public to visit the facilities to witness the scientific and technological expertise on display. The event is organized to highlight the importance of science in everyday life and to inspire the next generation of researchers.
