Community Initiative to Promote Recycling, Reduce Landfill Waste, and Encourage Eco-Friendly Disposal
In an effort to promote sustainable waste management and encourage responsible waste disposal, the Neighborhood Residents Welfare Association (NNRWA) and Perumbakkam Panchayat are organizing a Dry Waste Collection Drive on April 5 and 6, from 10 am to 5 pm. The collection center will be set up at the Panchayat Community Hall, Perumbakkam (near Panchayat office).

Why This Dry Waste Collection Drive Matters?
With increasing concerns about plastic waste, e-waste, and textile waste, this initiative aims to provide a structured waste management solution for the local community. The collected dry waste will be processed through recycling and upcycling channels, helping to minimize landfill accumulation and encourage a zero-waste lifestyle.
What Can You Contribute?
Residents are encouraged to sort and bring their dry waste, including:
🔹 Books and Papers – Old notebooks, magazines, newspapers
🔹 Clothes and Textiles – Used garments, fabric waste, and linens
🔹 E-Waste Recycling – Old electronic devices, cables, batteries
🔹 Plastics and Packaging Materials – Bottles, wrappers, containers
🔹 Pillows and Mattresses – Household textile waste
🔹 Ballpoint Pens and Tablet Strips – Stationery waste
🔹 Footwear, X-Ray Sheets, Handbags, and Accessories
This eco-friendly initiative is supported by Wasted and ROKA, organizations committed to waste reduction, sustainable living, and promoting the circular economy.
