Shakespeare Millennium Club, the Literary Arm of PRICE, Besant Nagar, and the Cosmopolitan Club, felicitated Rajasekar Pachai, the Everest Climber from the fisherman’s community in Kovalam, in a heartwarming function at the Pallava Hall on June 23, 2023. Rajasekar Pachai, whose story has already appeared in the Adyar Times was honored with a shawl, cash gifts, and a memento by Vriksha with a poem ‘Reaching the Summit’, by Dr. JKS. The audience listened spellbound to the Chief Guest and plied him with numerous questions.

Mr. Sanjay Ramaswamy VP, of Cosmopolitan Club, presided, and Mr. Ramesh Venkatachalapathy Jt. Secretary hosted a fabulous dinner. Swapna Sridharan, MD, PRICE, made the laudable offer of teaching English in 90 classes to the youth of the fishermen’s community free of cost. The tempo of the event can be gauged by the 84-year-old Koshu Murli coming with a walker and giving Pachai a cash gift and a hug.
