  • Most parts of the city canals and the Adyar River have been cleared and desilted. Clearing the rest is on a war footing;
  • Expediting relaying of roads that have been milled;
  • Pumpsets have been acquired and kept ready for contingencies. At flood-prone areas, the pumpsets have been placed at a raised level as well;
  • In areas where CMRL work is ongoing, pumpsets are being kept ready;
  • Jet rod machines are also kept on standby for sewage issues;
  • All wards are to have a relief centre, equipped with a kitchen.

The residents also voiced their concerns, some of which included desilting of SWD, illegal sewage let out into SWD, sewage backflow, creating buffer zones around lakes, clearing of canals etc.
