Medical camp for differently abled students

The Integrated School Education, Adyar Zone conducted an awareness rally and a medical camp for differently-abled children, on Oct.23

Teachers, special educators, principals, and students were part of the rally, which saw around 50 participants. The headmistress of Chennai Middle School, Gandhigram S.Uthra flagged the rally.

The event was held at Indira Nagar Primary School, Adyar. It was led by Chennai’s Principal Education Officer, Assistant Project Officer, District Developmental Officer for the Differently Abled, Regional Resource Center Supervisor and the Headmaster of the School. The children with disabilities were also provided with free Bus and train concession travel passes and identity cards (UDID).  A total of 191 students participated in the event.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
