Medley Toastmasters celebrates its milestone meeting

On Oct.15, Medley Toastmasters’ Club celebrated its 700th milestone meeting. This theme of the milestone meet was Medley Magic. The event was attended by 30+ members and guests from other Toastmasters’ clubs. Current President of Medley TM Saravanan Ponnusamy started the proceedings. The Medley anthem with its lyrics incorporating six languages was composed and sung by Medleyans.

The past presidents of Medley were felicitated and they shared their nostalgic memories of the challenges they faced in the early years of the club. The meeting was graced by the Toastmasters District 120 Program Quality Director, DTM C.G.Gayathri and Division-C Director DTM Dinesh Balaji.

Members and guests at the 700th milestone meeting of Medley Toastmasters’ club

The meeting included two prepared speeches from the educational pathways chosen by its members, an evaluation session of the speeches made, a session to encourage impromptu speaking and a fun session which left the audience in splits. The meeting concluded with members reminiscing their cherished moments and the impact of Toastmasters’ on their personal and professional lives.

Toastmasters’ international is a non-profit educational organisation that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Medley Toastmasters’ club is one of the oldest Toastmasters’ club in Tamil Nadu. They meet every Saturday from 2.55 pm – 5pm at Desert Rose, Indira Nagar, Adyar. Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
