Admissions are open for the 52nd Primary Montessori Teacher Training Course at the Indian Montessori Training Courses-Chennai. Commencing 10th July 2024, this course will be held on Monday to Thursday, every week, over a duration of 10 months. The curriculum includes theory and practical hands-on work with Montessori materials. Successful candidates will be awarded the Diploma issued by the Indian Montessori Centre (IMC), Bangalore, the apex body for Montessori Teacher training in India. The Directors for this course are Ms. Uma Shanker and Ms. D. Janaki Raja.
IMTC-Chennai was founded by Mrs. Uma Shanker in 1998 and has completed 26 years of teacher training in Chennai with over 1500 students having successfully completed the diploma course. In Tamil Nadu, over 45 Montessori schools have been established by the alumni of IMTC-Chennai. Montessori classrooms at Chennai Schools of Greater Chennai Corporation, have teachers trained at IMTC-Chennai.
