T.V.Radhakrishnan, a resident of Besant Nagar, was on June 1, awarded the Best Playwright Award in this year’s Kodai Nadaga Vizha, for his Drama ‘Thazhal Veeram’. 

The drama was produced and directed by T.V.Radhakrishnan’s daughter S.Sruuthi, who also acted as the main lead in the play. The play also won awards for the Best Actress and Best Direction in the Vizha. T.V.Radhakrishnan and Sruuthi are from the family of doyen R.S.Manohar.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
