New women-only buses launched to boost connectivity in Chennai suburbs

Passengers traveling to and from Chennai Airport can now benefit from enhanced public transport options with the introduction of two new MTC bus routes. The routes offer direct connections to Kilambakkam and Akkarai, promising a more convenient, reliable, and affordable travel solution. 

The services were inaugurated by Transport Minister S.S.Sivasankar and Minister for MSME and Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board T.M.Anbarasan, in the presence of other officials.

Passengers can board the buses near Gate A6 of International Terminal 2. The Kilambakkam route operates 24/7 with a 15-minute frequency, while the Akkarai service runs every 30 minutes between 5 am and 9 pm.
