Amidst unofficial reports circulating on social media and some news outlets about a potential electricity tariff hike, the Tamil Nadu government, on June 30, clarified and confirmed that there would be no electricity tariff increase for domestic connections.
Currently, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission has not issued any order regarding an electricity tariff increase.
Minister for Transport and Electricity,. S.S. Sivasankar, further confirmed that all existing concessions, including the current 100 units of free electricity, will continue to be provided. Therefore, the public is requested not to believe unnecessary rumors regarding electricity tariff hikes.
