The Tamil Nadu government has officially launched online registrations for the much-anticipated Chief Minister’s Trophy Games 2025, with a prize purse of ₹37 crore. The initiative, spearheaded by the Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, was inaugurated on July 17.
The tournament will be held from Aug.22 to Sept.12 across districts and zones. The competitions are open to: School and college students, General public (aged 15 to 35), Persons with disabilities, Government and public sector employees.
Participants can register through the official portals: https://cmtrophy.sdat.in, https://sdat.tn.gov.in. The last date for registration is Aug.16 (6 pm).
At the state level, individual winners will receive Rs.1 lakh (1st prize), Rs.75,000 (2nd prize), and Rs.50,000 (3rd prize). For team events, each winning team member will be awarded Rs.75,000, Rs.50,000, and Rs.25,000, respectively. District-level and zone-level winners will also receive cash prizes and certificates.
In addition to financial rewards, participation certificates are expected to carry weight for both academic and employment opportunities. The Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) has set up district-level help desks, and a state-wide helpline (95140 00777) is available from 10 am to 5 pm on working days.
This year’s edition places a strong focus on youth empowerment, inclusivity, and digital access, reinforcing the state’s commitment to building a vibrant sports ecosystem.
