The India Poetry Circle (IPC) hosted a memorable evening of poetry at Odyssey Bookstore in Adyar on Aug.23. The event celebrated Madras Day, bringing together 32 poets of all ages who read works in English and Tamil.
Structured by poet and author S. Sundar Rajan, the event saw impressive performances from seven middle-school and two college students. The young poets, along with the seniors, captivated the audience with their heartfelt tributes to the city.
Jairam Seshadri, the founder of IPC, presented gift vouchers to the nine student poets, sponsored by Dr. Mohan of IPC. The overwhelming response has inspired Odyssey and IPC to plan a poetry contest for school students around Children’s Day in November 2025.
