Poets of All Ages Celebrate Madras Day at Odyssey Bookstore

The India Poetry Circle (IPC) hosted a memorable evening of poetry at Odyssey Bookstore in Adyar on Aug.23. The event celebrated Madras Day, bringing together 32 poets of all ages who read works in English and Tamil.

Structured by poet and author S. Sundar Rajan, the event saw impressive performances from seven middle-school and two college students. The young poets, along with the seniors, captivated the audience with their heartfelt tributes to the city.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
