As part of the World Heart Day awareness program, a comprehensive program to increase awareness on heart health, among the public, through social media, was launched by Dr.Arun Kalyanasundaram, Chief Cardiologist, Promed Hospital.
“World Heart Day is an opportunity for everyone to stop and consider how best to take care of their hearts. India has witnessed a spike in heart disease and heart related deaths. The pillars of a healthy lifestyle include a combination of exercise, dietary changes, sleep, avoiding tobacco and alcohol, stress management along with regular checkups.” said Dr. Arun Kalyanasundaram.
“Traffic policemen work 24×7 to keep our roads safe and ensure we reach home safely to our kin every day. They should have a balanced diet and exercise to avoid heart diseases,” said the ACP.
“Previously thought to only affect older people, heart attacks now affect a significant number of younger persons, including those even in their 20s. This makes it crucial to educate young adults about maintaining heart health,” said Dr Spoorthi Arun, Managing Director, Promed Hospital.
