Tamil Nadu Government to Operate 627 Special Buses for Long Weekend Travel in April 2025

In a significant move to facilitate hassle-free travel during the upcoming long weekend, the Tamil Nadu Transport Department has announced the deployment of 627 special buses from April 4 to April 6, 2025. These buses will help manage the surge in passenger traffic and ensure smooth transit across key destinations in the state.

The Tamil Nadu government will operate these additional buses from major transport hubs in Chennai and other districts:

    • 485 special buses to major destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Madurai, Kumbakonam, Coimbatore, and more.
    • 102 extra buses to Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Ooty, and Nellai.
  • Other Districts:
    • 40 special buses will be operated from various locations to accommodate travelers.
