TANKER (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation, a non-profit institution dedicated to supporting underprivileged kidney patients, has received a new dialysis machine for its Injambakkam dialysis unit. The donation was made by Ecare India Pvt. Ltd. as part of their CSR initiative through the Rotary Club of Chennai ECR.
The new dialysis machine was inaugurated by Suresh Kumar Sanghi at the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), Lodge Accountants No.194, TANKER Dialysis Unit in Injambakkam. The unit is supported by GCC, Lodge Accountants No.194, CMCHIS, and various donors.
Speaking at the event, Latha A.Kumaraswami, Managing Trustee of TANKER, stressed the importance of timely machine replacements and early detection of kidney disease. She highlighted that kidney failure cases are rising, making awareness and preventive care crucial.
The donation, made to honour Suresh Sanghi’s 74th birthday, will greatly benefit underprivileged kidney patients relying on TANKER’s services. TANKER Foundation, established in 1993, provides subsidised dialysis and financial assistance for kidney patients. The organisation runs 14 dialysis units across Tamil Nadu, with 11 in Chennai and one each in Madurai, Vellore, and Tiruppur.
