Sri Varasiddhi Vinayakar Satsang celebrates Golden Jubilee
Share on WhatsappShare on Facebook

Sri Varasiddhi Vinayagar temple, on Dec.21, celebrated its Golden jubilee with a grand function. The temple is a landmark at Besant Nagar, since its inception in the early 1970s.

K.R.Chandrasekhar, a long-time resident of Besant Nagar recalls, “It was a tiny street-side temple outside CPWD quarters at Besant Nagar on a lane where the St John’s school is functioning at present. The old-time residents of Besant Nagar formed a Satsangam, mobilised funds door to door and coordinated with the TNHB authorities for allotment of exclusive land on a hire-purchase scheme where the temple is at present, and the rest is history.”

On the occasion, the temple Satsang also launched a golden jubilee souvenir. The programme started with a lovely prayer song by Sahana Vidya, presided over by G.Rajagopalan (Ex. Additional Solicitor General of Government of India), T.R Ramesh (President of Temple Worshippers Committee) and the office bearers of the Satsang.
