The 3rd edition of the Tamil Nadu Kite International Festival is truly a vibrant celebration at Thiruvidanthai Beach, with over 200 kites gracing the skies. The festival was officially inaugurated on Aug.15, by Hon’ble Minister for MSME, T. M. Anbarasan, and Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, K. Ramachandran, alongside distinguished officials including Dr. B. Chandra Mohan, I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government – TC&RE Department; C. Samayamoorthy, I.A.S., Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director-TTDC; and S. Arunraj, I.A.S., District Collector – Chengalpattu.
Organised by Global Media Box in collaboration with the Department of Tourism Tamil Nadu, this year’s event features a dazzling array of kites from eight countries—France, Germany, Thailand, Vietnam, Switzerland, and India—promising an impressive aerial display that will surely delight spectators of all ages. A standout attraction is a massive, colourful teddy bear kite that’s expected to capture the imaginations of younger visitors.
The festival provides a full family carnival experience, with a variety of activities and attractions suitable for all ages. Guests can browse through unique souvenir and craft stalls, savour local and international dishes in the food zone, and enjoy lively music concerts that will keep everyone entertained and dancing.
