Traffic Arrangements for Vice President and Home Minister’s Visit in Chennai on 31st January 2025

In view of the visit of the Hon’ble Vice President of India and the Home Minister of India on 31st January 2025, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police have announced special traffic arrangements to ensure smooth movement across the city.

From 2PM to 10 PM on the day of the visit, motorists are advised to take note of the following measures:

  • Alternate Route: Motorists traveling from Chennai Airport to East Coast Road (ECR) are encouraged to use the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) as an alternative route to avoid delays.
  • Commercial Vehicle Restrictions: All commercial vehicles will be prohibited from using the Airport-ECR route during the specified hours to facilitate smoother traffic flow for the dignitaries’ visit.

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police have urged the public to cooperate with the arrangements for a hassle-free travel experience and to expect some disruptions in traffic. Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
