To celebrate World Health Day, Fortis Malar organised a walkathon on Apr.16 on ‘Health for All’. The aim of the walkathon was to raise awareness on wellness and inspire people to lead an active lifestyle to maintain good health both physically and mentally. Over 200 people participated in the walkathon.
The walkathon started at 6 am from Elliot’s Beach and covered a distance of 2 kms. Dr.G.Sai Ramanan, President – Rotary Club of Chennai Presidency, Rotary International District 3232, R.Chandrasekar, Facility Director, Fortis Malar Hospital and other dignitaries from Fortis Malar Hospital were part of the walkathon.
R.Chandrasekar said, “We are pleased to join WHO’s 75 years commemoration of strengthening public health. The recent pandemic has highlighted the value of leading a healthy and active lifestyle to maintain overall wellness. With this event, we aim to motivate individuals to walk for at least 30 minutes every day, even if they are unable to perform full workouts. We take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in the walkathon and inspire others to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle.”
