    Eligibility: Women aged 20–45, Chennai residents, with driving license. Priority to widows & destitute women. Autos fitted with GPS & linked to police helpline. Free access to “Oor Cabs” app.

Subsidy for Flour Milling Machines

  • Subsidy: 50% (up to ₹5,000) for machines worth ₹10,000+.
    Eligibility: Native Tamil Nadu women, aged 25+, annual income ≤ ₹1.2 lakh. Priority for widows & deserted women.
    Deadline: Sept.1, 2026.

Uyarvukkupadi’ Camp launched for Class 12 Students

  • ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ Higher Education Guidance Scheme.
    Eligibility: Students who completed Class 12 in the 2023-24 and 2024-25 academic years from all government, Chennai Corporation, and Adi Dravidar welfare higher secondary schools. This includes students who passed or did not pass their exams, those who did not appear for the exams, or those who, for various reasons, did not enrol in college after applying.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
