Vidya Sagar to Host Inclusive ‘Namma Pasanga Angadi’ Mela

Vidya Sagar will host Namma Pasanga Angadi 2025, an inclusive mela showcasing the skills of people with disabilities. On Sept. 13 & 14, 11 am to 7 pm; At Vidya Sagar, No.1, Ranjith Road, Kotturpuram. The mela will feature over 25 stalls with handmade products, along with food, bakery delights, and a free Legal Aid Cell. Inauguration by R. Sudhan, I.A.S. (Retd.), State Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities.

Chennai Gears Up for the Planet’s Largest Coastal Cleanup

CommuniTREE will organise a mega coastal cleanup across Chennai’s coastline from Kasimedu to Kovalam. On Sept. 20, 6 am to 9 am. For group registrations: 99402 21404.

E.F.I. and GCC Launch ‘BlueCleanMarina’

The Environmentalist Foundation of India (E.F.I.) with GCC will launch #BlueCleanMarina on International Coastal Cleanup Day. On Sept. 20 & 21, 7 am to 9 am. At Marina Beach, Ashtalakshmi Beach, Kovalam Beach, Akkarai Beach.

Jumble Sale and Waste Collection Drive

Mangayarkarasi Magalir Mandram, in collaboration with ROKA and Wasted 360, will host a jumble sale and waste collection drive. Jumble sale of clothes, home utilities, and accessories. Waste management and composting session by ROKA also scheduled. Waste items collected: clothes, utilities, and recyclable waste like plastics, e-waste, X-rays, and books. Kalakshetra to Host 16th Kala Mela Kathakali Festival

Kalakshetra Foundation will present the 16th Kala Mela Kathakali Festival, themed Bhava Bhavanam – Rasa Rajasam. On Sept. 18 to 20, 6 pm daily. At Bharata Kalakshetra Auditorium, Thiruvanmiyur.

  • Sept.18: Thodayam by 4th-year students of Kalakshetra Foundation, followed by the story Nalacharitham.

The Alarmelmanga Nayika Sametha Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal Temple, Kottur, will host Purattasi Sanikizhamai Utsavams from Sept. 20 with Garuda Seva and vocal concerts by Sowmya Parvathi (5.45 p.m.) and Lavanya Sundararaman (7.15 p.m.).

The Navaratri Utsavam runs from Sept. 23–Oct. 1, featuring daily Oonjal Sevai, concerts, Harikatha, and dance programs. All are welcome.
