25-Year Wait Ends: Pallipattu Gets New Ration Shop
Share on WhatsappShare on Facebook

CHENNAI, OCT 27: The residents of Pallipattu and Sriram Nagar celebrated the inauguration of their long-awaited ration shop on Oct.27, ending a hardship that had lasted over 25 years.

For over a year, Ward 170 Councillor, K.R. Kathir Murugan, tirelessly pressed the demand in Corporation and Zonal meetings, ultimately leading to the construction of a new multi-purpose building, which now houses the ration shop, eliminating the need for residents to travel long distances for essential commodities.

After the inauguration, Councillor Kathir Murugan personally distributed essential goods, including rice, sugar, dal, and oil, to the public.

“The people of Pallipattu and Sriram Nagar have been waiting for this for nearly 25 years. Today, their dream has come true,” said the Councillor, emphasising that the shop is the pride of the people, not his personal achievement.
