The 81st ARAE-FEARA Regatta, a highly anticipated international rowing event, has made a grand comeback to Chennai after a two-year hiatus. Hosted by the historic Madras Boat Club, the regatta spans from January 6 to 11, 2025, bringing together top rowing talent from India and abroad.
The event began on January 6 with an inauguration ceremony featuring the flag hoisting and team pledges. Competitive action followed with the Heats and Repechage rounds, held daily from January 7 to 10, between 7 AM and 10 AM. The Finals and the Closing Ceremony will take place on January 11, from 2 PM to 7 PM, marking the culmination of this iconic sporting event.
Participating teams include renowned clubs such as the Royal Madras Yacht Club, Colombo Rowing Club, Bengal Rowing Club, and others. This regatta is a key milestone in the rowing calendar, reflecting the growing prominence of the sport in India.
