On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY 2025) on June 21, 2025, the Governor of Tamil Nadu, R.N. Ravi, has urged all citizens to embrace and practice Yoga, highlighting its role as a timeless discipline uniting body, mind, and spirit through ancient Indian heritage.

To facilitate widespread participation across diverse sectors—including organisations, institutions, industries, companies, villages, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), and among farmers, fishermen, and artisans—Raj Bhavan, in collaboration with Anna University, has launched a dedicated online portal for the IDY-2025 event.

Participation Details:

  • Nodal Centres: Centres, institutions, organisations, and departments willing to host Yoga practice sessions can register themselves, along with participant details, through the Nodal Centre Registration Portal.
  • Individual Participants: Individual yoga enthusiasts can register through the Participant Portal (https://events.annauniv.edu/) by selecting a Nodal Centre of their choice to participate in the IDY 2025 celebrations. Participants at any registered Nodal Centre on June 21 will receive an online certificate from their respective Centre after the event.

Nodal Centres are requested to upload photos and videos of their Yoga demonstrations, along with a brief description of their IDY 2025 celebrations, on the Nodal Centre Portal post-event on June 21, 2025. An independent panel of experts will select the best-performing Nodal Centres, which the Governor will felicitate at a special ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Chennai.
