Aikyam 2025: A Celebration of Dance and Unity

The MSMAB Trust and Maanasi Arts Academy present Aikyam 2025, a cultural event celebrating classical dance, on Oct.12 at Bharatakalanjali, TEACH Auditorium, CSIR Road, Taramani.

The guest of honour is Kalaimamani Acharya Choodamani Roja Kannan, Director of Bharatha Natyalaya – Academy of Dance & Music. Performances include a duet recital by Girish Madhu and Vidhya Girish (5.15 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.), followed by Pitthan, a production by Divya Nayar’s Dakshina Repertory (6.45 p.m. to 8 p.m.).

INWA Handicraft Exhibition and Jumble Sale

The Indira Nagar Women’s Association (INWA) is organising a one-day Handicraft Exhibition and Jumble Sale on Oct.14, from 10 am to 5 pm, at INWA premises, 1st Main Road, Indira Nagar, Adyar. The exhibition will feature new handmade items and pre-loved goods, including jewellery, return gifts, clothing, and crafts. Entry is free, and all are welcome. Those interested in booking a stall, contact 99404 18888.

Art as Light: Healing Minds, Inspiring Change

In response to growing youth anxiety and mental health concerns, a free awareness session titled ‘Art as Light: Healing Minds, Inspiring Change’ will be held on Oct.18, from 10 am to 12 pm, at Deeksha Montessori School, Thiruvanmiyur. The session will explore how art fosters self-expression, emotional regulation, and resilience. Parents, educators, teens, and young adults are encouraged to participate.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
