AMM school celebrates field day with grandparents

On Sept.15, AMM School organised its Kindergarten field day with grandparents, at its premises. Ms.Padmavathy, Headmistress, Kendriya Vidyalaya (IIT), was the chief guest of the event. Mr.Narayanan, CEE of AMM Foundation presided over the function. 

The students of Lower Kindergarten and Upper Kindergarten classes participated in the field day with their parents and grandparents. The day began with a prayer and Saanvika of UKG welcomed the gathering. The KG Field Day started with the Parade of the kindergarten children, followed by LKG students performing the drill ‘Navrang’ using colourful pom poms.

The UKG children performed the drill ‘Rings of Fire’ with colourful, bright costumes and hoops depicting the rays of the sun. The theme races for LKG and UKG children were also conducted. 

The grandparents participated in races called ‘Balancing the Act’ and ‘Stepping Stone’. The winners of the races for the student’s category, parents and grandparent category were felicitated. The chief guest in her address stated the importance of having grandparents in our families to teach the values to the children, and also the benefits of the joint family system. 

AMM conducted the signature campaign on the same day to commemorate the ‘World Ozone Day’. Most of the parents and grandparents signed up for the campaign and were reassured of their responsibility to save nature. Pranavan of UKG proposed the vote of thanks.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
