Continuing a six-year tradition of inclusive celebration, Ward 170 Councillor K.R. Kathir Murugan distributed over 5,000 packets of crackers and sweets to residents across Kotturpuram this Diwali.

The councillor personally ensured the festive cheer reached essential service providers, including the Greater Chennai Corporation health and sanitation workers, conservancy staff, UPHC nurses, CMWSSB staff, TANGEDCO employees, and Amma Unavagam staff.

In a grassroots effort, the councillor used an auto-rickshaw to traverse the streets, reaching slum residents, daily-wage earners, and street vendors, ensuring that no family was left out. “Diwali is a festival of togetherness. Happiness must reach every home, every heart,” he said.
