Music & Culture

  • Nalaiya Sigarangal’s 27th Annual Music Competition: The competition featuring Carnatic and Cine vocal genres takes place on Nov. 30 at RKM School, Dhandapani Street, T. Nagar.   • Karnataka Rajyotsava Celebration 2025: A grand cultural event on Nov. 23 (2:30 PM) at Dr. U. Rama Rau Kala Mantapa, T. Nagar. Features a Kannada movie songs orchestra, ‘Paramapada,’ led by Ramachandra Hadapad, and felicitations. Chief Guest is National award-winning actress Umashree.
  • Kala Madhuryam (Hare Krishna Movement): Classical music and dance at the temple hall, Dakshina Dwaraka Dham, Thiruvanmiyur (5:20 PM).

  • Bhupen Hazarika Centenary Celebrations: The Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai, is honouring the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. Diverse cultural performances from Assam/North East India and participation by students of the new Tamil Department at the University of Guwahati. On Nov.15 and 16 at 6 pm at Rukmini Arangam, Kalakshetra Foundation.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
