Rotary Club of Chennai Thiruvanmiyur (RCCT) has sponsored equipment at VHS Hospital, Taramani, and upgraded the operation theatre at a cost of ₹ 43 lakhs recently. They set up a screening centre and upgraded the existing operation theatre with an operation table, surgical microscope and surgical equipment to cater to cancer patients of head and neck.
“We hope that this centre will now be able to perform 20 to 50 surgeries a month with an average screening of 100 to 200 patients a week. Thanks to our CSR partner FLEXCO Steel Lacing Company Pvt ltd, Global partner Rotary club of Puchong, Malaysia and Rotarians who contributed from other clubs also,” said a statement from RCCT.
Rotary club of Chennai Thiruvanmiyur also invites other Rotary clubs to partner with them to establish more screening camps for the vulnerable communities, for early detection and diagnosis of illnesses.
