The Rotary Club of Madras East (Rotary Dist.3232) with support from Terry Fox Foundation Canada and the family of Akash Dube, conducted the Terry Fox Run Chennai 2023 on Oct.1.

This run is to support the cause of cancer research as well as create awareness on cancer for early detection and intervention.

Greater Chennai Police Commissioner, Sandeep Rai Rathore, was the chief guest. Rtn. Ravi Raman, Dist. Governor, Rotary International District 3232, the guest of honour. Neeraja Malik, Cancer counsellor and motivational speaker,  flagged off the run at 5.30 am, in the presence of the President of RCME, Babu Krishnamurthy.

More than 6000 people participated this year and Rs.6 lakhs WAS raised from the event, which was donated to the Cancer Institute, stated Babu Krishnamurthy.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
