The Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Thiruvanmiyur (IWCCT) recently completed two projects to contribute to a healthy ecosystem.

  • Plant a Tree, Plant a Life: IWCCT planted 10 saplings at Thoraipakkam Government Higher Secondary School and donated 25 saplings to the teachers and students on July 26. The project cost amounted to Rs. 1000.
  • International Tiger Day 2024 – Call for Action: To highlight the importance of Tigers and to save the endangered species, IWCCT visited Vandalur Zoo on July 29 (International Tiger Day) and contributed Rs. 72,500 to feed 26 tigers. It was a joint club project comprising 14 clubs and 24 members of IWCCT.

Adyar Times was established in Chennai in the year 1993, founded by Mr.S.P.Ambrose, IAS (Retd.). The concept of a newspaper for the neighbourhood was a novel idea then. The English weekly (Sunday) now boasts a circulation of 42000 copies with an average of 16 pages per issue.
