The Navaratri celebrations at Bala Vidya Mandir, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, was vibrant and culturally enriching. Each day, starting Oct.1, students from classes 3 to 5 portrayed different forms of Goddess Lakshmi, delivering speeches and performances that highlighted the significance of the goddess they represented.

Students dressed in traditional attire and sang devotional songs. The 9th day featured performances celebrating Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati, with a sloka recital and a discussion on the significance of the Golu steps. Grandparents and parents were offered ‘thamboolam’ on all these days. Additionally, the primary students performed a captivating ‘Mahishasuramardhini’ dance and the teachers performed an energetic dandiya dance, leaving everyone in high spirits.
