Eight-year-old Aathirai Rajkumar from Thoraippakkam has clinched a gold medal at the State-level skateboard championship held on Nov.13 at G Skate Park, Medavakkam. The event, organised by the Tamilnadu Roller Skating Association (TNRSA), marked her debut at the State-level competition.
Aathirai, a Class 3 student at Sishya OMR, has previously competed at the district level, representing Chennai in the sport. Her victory at the State competition has now earned her a chance to represent Tamil Nadu at the National Championship next month.
Training under Vijay Dominic at Madras Wheelers Skatepark, Aathirai has quickly made a name for herself in the world of skateboarding. She will compete in the 7-9 age group category at the upcoming national championship, organised by the Roller Skating Federation of India.
