In an impressive show of community engagement, more than 200 students from the NSS, RRC, and YRC of Dhanraj Baid Jain College (Autonomous), Thoraipakkam, conducted an event to raise awareness about cervical cancer, on Nov.7.

This initiative unfolded along Dr.C.L.Metha Road in Thoraipakkam, leaving a profound impact on the local community. Through informative sessions and by standing the human chain, the students effectively conveyed the significance of cervical cancer awareness, equipping residents with vital knowledge for early detection and prevention.

The event was conducted with support from J9 Thoraipakkam Police Station. “This event exemplified the power of a student-led campaign. Every 1 in 5 women can be affected by cervical cancer and the team insisted the women get vaccinated with the vaccine for it. Girls aged 9 to 14 years old are fit to take this vaccine,” said a statement from the college and added that the team work of both, boys and girls, made this event a success.
