CSIR Jigyasa Scientific Aptitude assessment for school students

CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC), Taramani, organised the CSIR Jigyasa Scientist Aptitude Assessment on Dec.20, engaging 25 students and two teachers from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Meenambakkam.

The event included a hands-on science experiment session, conducted with online guidance from CSIR-IGIB, New Delhi. Students independently performed experiments and participated in a scientific aptitude assessment test, enhancing their practical and analytical skills.

Dr. N. Anandavalli, Director of CSIR-SERC, interacted with the students, encouraging them to pursue careers in science and urging them to embrace creativity and innovation. Dr. S. Maheswaran, Senior Principal Scientist and Jigyasa Nodal Officer, provided an overview of CSIR, CSIR-SERC, and Jigyasa activities, inspiring students to explore research opportunities.

Participants also attended the CSIR Jigyasa EPIC Hackathon 2024 Finale online and toured CSIR-SERC laboratories, interacting with scientists and observing advanced research.

The program highlighted the mission of Jigyasa, fostering curiosity and inspiring young minds to engage in science and research.
